NAD-Web and Graphic Design Logo

Choosing Your site's Logo

Successful logos will help achieve company's goals. The basis of many logo designs and graphics are simple geometric shapes -- lines, circles, squares, and triangles. Even the graphically-challenged can create great graphics for logos, it's not neccessarly the complexity of your custom graphics that makes a quality design sometimes simple is best ."

A logo design doesn't mean a pretty graphic. A Logo has to have a concept that can be defined as the creative solution to a company's design problem. Developing a good concept in which to build a solid logo design is the hardest part of the creative process. It is this stage that separates the amateur logo designer from the professional logo designer.

There are three elements in the communication process of a Logo:

(1) The source or sender of the message (the company name).

(2) The message( the concept of your business).
The first thing a designer does to deliver the message is symbolize the company's business. This says the company is an expert in that business. Like a Computer repair shop with a sign hanging on the store front with a "computer" or "keyboard" symbol together with the text "Joe's PC Repair." For Joe to have a credible or powerful logo, the designer should use the "Computer" or " the keyboard" with the source name and apply all the necessary elements needed to make it look trustworthy.Using font elements and some graphic design techniques in a way to help define the descriptive nature of the Computer repair shop such as "experienced," "professional" and "friendly".

(3) The receiver (stakeholder).
The receiver acceptance rely on the two previous elements. If the source is competent, reliable, and forward thinking the message will be more readily accepted by the receiver.

Compare your present logo with the three elements which make up a credibility-based logo.

1-Does your symbolize your company business which says you are an expert in this business?
2-
Does it have the appropriate "trustworthy" attributes?
3-
Is it "contemporary" symbolizing a "forward-thinking" look?
4-
Is your company name credibility-based?
5-
is it clear and expressive graphic wise?

Always remember Logos have power to influence company messages in the minds of company stakeholders.
